Men’s Track & Field Travels to East Stroudsburg

STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Susquehanna men's track & field team traveled to East Stroudsburg on Saturday for the ESU All-American Meet.

Sprinter Kwane Hayle's time of 10.99 in the 100m dash earned him fourth overall in the 84-runner field. Hayle went on to capture fifth in the 200m dash with a time of 22.04, just shy of his PR of 22.01.

Justin Meyer was SU's top finisher in the 400m run with his time of 53.46 and Kaleb Waiwada posted a time of 54.33, a career-best time.

In the 800m run, Matt Gass's time of 2:02.00 was 22nd overall. Teammates Justin Skavery and Steve Rivlin finished back-to-back with respective times of 2:03.19 and 2:03.36.

Ciaran Fisher crossed the finish of the 1500m run with a time of 4:27.59 and Eric Pressler posted a time of 4:41.28.

In the 3000m steeplechase, Peter Lynch's time of 10:36.46 placed him seventh.

Kyle Skelton and John Matthews placed fifth and seventh, respectively, in the 5000m run with times of 16:59.94 and 17:03.10 with Matthews's time marking a PR. Mackenzie Greco was 13th (17:41.38).

Will Claxton was 21st in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:01.25 while Brandon Mendoza placed 24th with a time of 1:02.40

In the final track event of the day, the 4 x 400 relay team of Claxton, Waiwada, Gass and Meyer took 15th with a time of 3:30.00.

Tom Schetroma was 12th in the hammer with a throw of 40.68m with Teddy Linde in 23rd (32.33m). Schetroma went on to place 14th in the discus (35.43m) but his best throw of the day came in the shot put as his mark of 15.44m earned him second overall.

In the javelin, Jared Minori's throw of 56.99m placed him third.

Desmond Edwards was 17th in the long jump with a mark of 6.07m and Rakee Cromwell earned 19th (6.01m – a PR). Edwards captured seventh in the triple with a mark of 13.10m – a PR – and Matthew Cultrera's jump of 11.80m was good for 15th.

Finally, Jeremy Campbell was 13th in the high jump with a height of 1.70m.

Several members of the team will compete at Penn Relays on April 28-29 with the final meet of the season on May 30 at Shippensburg.
