Three Weekly Honors for SU Track & Field

TOWSON, Md. – Three Susquehanna track & field athletes earned weekly recognition from the Landmark Conference. Kwane Hayle and Tom Schetroma were named the Landmark Men's Track and Men's Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, while senior Ashley West was named the Landmark Female Track Athlete of the Week.

Hayle placed fourth among 86 competitors in the 100m dash at Saturday's ESU All-American meet with a time of 10.99. He also took fifth among 106 runners in the 200m dash with his time of 22.04. He is currently ranked first in the 100m dash and third in the 200m dash in the Landmark Conference.

Schetroma, meanwhile, competed in three events at Saturday's meet. He took second in the shot put with a throw of 15.44m. He also placed 12th in the hammer (40.68m) and 14th in the discus (35.43m). Schetroma is currently ranked first in the Landmark Conference in the shot put.

Finally, West extended her school and Landmark Conference record in the 800m run with her time 2:10.75 at Princeton's Larry Ellis Invitational. She was second among all NCAA Division III competitors in the race. She later went on to post a time of 4:36.97 in the 1500m run. West is first in the Landmark Conference in both the 800m and 1500m runs and among all Division III runners, she is ranked ninth in the 800m run and 17th in the 1500m run.

Several members of the team will compete at Penn Relays on April 28-29 and the majority of the team will travel to Shippensburg on April 30.
