Four Men Earn All-Region Honors from USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS – Four Susquehanna male track & field athletes have earned All-Region honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Seniors Kwane Hayle (100m dash), Jared Minori (javelin) and Tom Schetroma (shot put) and sophomore Alex Messick (javelin) were all recognized. Hayle, Minori and Messick will compete at the NCAA Outdoor Championships this weekend.

To be named All-Region, an athlete must either be ranked in the top five of an individual event in his/her region or be part of a top-three relay team.

Hayle earned his All-Region status by posting a program-record time of 10.62 in the 100m dash, which places him 12th in the nation among Division III athletes. He will compete in his first-ever NCAA Outdoor Championship meet May 26-28.

Minori qualified for his fourth NCAA Outdoor Championship meet in the javelin and earned All-Region recognition. Minori enters this weekend's championship fifth in the nation in the event with a throw of 65.30m.

Fellow javelin thrower Messick is ranked 10th nationally in the event with his throw of 62.20m. Messick qualified for the NCAA Championships one year ago as a freshman.

Finally, Schetroma earned his first career outdoor All-Region honor by tying for 36th in the nation in the event with a mark of 15.89m.
