Two Susquehanna track & field athletes were named Landmark Conference Athletes of the Week following last Friday’s SU Open. Sophomore Shannon Galvin earned her first career Track Athlete of the Week honor while Ken Schetroma picked up his second Field Athlete of the Week award of the season.
SU Open Marks Final Tune-Up for SU Track & Field
It was a long, but successful meet for the Susquehanna men’s and women’s track teams at the SU Open on Friday night. The meet marked the final tune-up before next weekend’s Landmark Conference Championships.

Susquehanna University has announced that six former student-athletes will be inducted into the SU Sports Hall of Fame as members of the Class of 2012. The on-campus induction ceremony is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 28, the opening day of Homecoming Weekend.

Seventy-Four Student-Athletes Earn Academic Honor Roll Status
Seventy-four Susquehanna student-athletes have been named to the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll. A total of 279 student-athletes from the eight Landmark institutions were named to the honor roll for completing the spring season with a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher.

Woodruff, Klingler Conclude Careers at Championship Meet
A pair of Susquehanna track and field athletes wrapped up their athletic careers on Saturday afternoon at the NCAA Division III Championships, hosted by Ohio-Wesleyan. Distance runner Alycia Woodruff, who ran the 5k, and javelin thrower Braden Klingler both competed in what marked the first NCAA Outdoor Championship meet of their careers.

Klingler Qualifies for Outdoor Track & Field Championships
Susquehanna track athlete Braden Klingler received word on Tuesday that he had qualified to compete in the javelin at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Ohio-Wesleyan on Saturday. Klingler qualified after a thrower was forced to drop out and Klingler was next in line to qualify.

The Susquehanna women’s and men’s track teams traveled to the Messiah Invitational on Saturday in a team-scored event. The women took home fourth with 69 points while the men placed fifth overall, also with 69 points, and both in 16-team fields.

Despite the cold temperatures, the Susquehanna men’s and women’s track and field teams put together a solid day of competition at their annual J.T. Invitational on Saturday.
