GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Susquehanna men’s and women’s cross country teams continued their fall season on Saturday at the Gettysburg Invitational. The men earned a fifth-place finish while the women took home sixth.
The men placed fifth out of 25 teams, while the women were sixth, also among 25 competing squads.
On the men’s side, David Haklar (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) was the top finisher for the men on the 8k course, posting a time of 26:35.06 to place 11th. Joining him in the top 20 was Ian Quinlan (Eagle View, Pa./Methacton/Lehigh), who finished 20th with a time of 26:53.74.
Senior Alycia Woodruff (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) was the top SU finisher for both the men and women, taking home fourth on the women’s 6k course with her time of 23:10.33. Casey Hess (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg Area) was the next closest Susquehanna runner, running a time of 24:17.45 to place 24th overall.
Both squads return to competition at the Landmark Conference championships on Oct. 30.
