More Preseason Attention for Cross Country Squads
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna’s men’s and women’s cross country teams have earned preseason recognition by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCA).
The men’s squad is ranked sixth in the Mideast Region
while the women were ranked seventh.
The six men’s teams ranked above SU were Allegheny,
Haverford, Carnegie Mellon, Elizabethtown, Dickinson. Johns
Hopkins, DeSales, Salisbury and Gettysburg rounded out the seven
through 10 spots.
On the women’s side, Johns Hopkins took the number one
slot, followed by Haverford, Dickinson, Grove City, Elizabethtown
and Carnegie Mellon. Ranked behind Susquehanna were Swarthmore,
Gettysburg and Lebanon Valley.
The SU men’s and women’s teams were picked to
finish first in the Landmark Conference Preseason Poll, announced
earlier this month. Both teams open their fall season on Sept. 4 at
the Bucknell Open.
