NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Susquehanna men’s and
women’s cross country teams have both been named Scholar
Teams by the USTFCCCA following their respective 2011
campaigns.
A total of 187 institutions from 38 Division III conferences
earned the honor. To qualify for the All-Academic Team, a squad
must have a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.10 or higher
through the fall semester.
The SU men’s squad boasted a 3.20 GPA while the women
finished the semester with a team GPA of 3.42.
Earlier this month, senior Ian Quinlan (Eagle View,
Pa./Methacton/Lehigh) was named a USTFCCCA Academic
All-American, one of 141 male student-athletes from the DIII level
to earn the honor. Quinlan qualified for the 2011 DIII NCAA
Championships for the second time in his career and set a
personal-best on the 8k championship course.
