Cross Country to Compete in Landmark Championships

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna's men's and women's cross country teams are ready to run in the 2011 Landmark Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Oct. 29. The event will be held on the Goodman Campus of Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa. and is hosted by Moravian College.

The men's team looks to win its fifth consecutive league title as it remains the only team to win a Landmark Men's Cross Country championship since the Landmark Conference began competition in 2007.

Seniors Ian Quinlan (Eagle View, Pa. / Methacton / Lehigh) and Joe Zamadics (West Chester, Pa. / West Chester East) are expected to among those competing for the individual crown, with Quinlan aiming for a return trip to the NCAA Championships in November.

The women's squad aims to defend its 2010 league title and is led in part by junior Carly Bass (Flanders, N.J. / Mount Olive). The team has won the conference title in two of the past four seasons.

Competition starts at 1 p.m. with a women's 6,000 meter run and the men's 8,000 meter run begins at 2 p.m. There will be an awards ceremony held at approximately 3:30 p.m. honoring men's and women's team champions as well as individual first-place winners.
