Cole, Quinlan Come Away with Super Crusader Awards

SELINSGROVE, Pa. –Susquehanna’s swimming and cross country programs are represented in this week’s SAAC Super Crusaders of the Week as freshman swimmer Lexi Cole (Danville, Pa. / Danville Area) and senior runner Ian Quinlan (Eagle View, Pa. / Methacton/ Lehigh) were honored for the week ending Nov. 13.

On Saturday at York (Pa.), Cole took second place in the 1,000 yard freestyle (11:01.67), second in the 200 backstroke (2:20.01) and second with the 400 freestyle relay team (3:50.82).

Her time in the 1,000 free is the third-best time in school history.

The Crusaders remain undefeated at 2-0 in dual meets, both of which have been in the Landmark Conference. SU travels to Scranton to take on the Royals on Saturday Nov. 19 at 1:00 p.m.

Quinlan placed third at the NCAA Mideast Regional Cross Country Championships at DeSales University to automatically qualify for the NCAA National Championships on Saturday Nov. 19 in Winneconne, Wisconsin.

In all the meets in 2011, he has finished 11th, third, 11th, fourth, second, first and third, respectively. On Saturday, he was the top Landmark Conference finisher and his time of 25:29 was a personal-best.
