LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – For the second week in a row the Susquehanna men's and women's cross country teams hit the road, this time traveling to compete at the Lock Haven River Run.

The men's team placed sixth out of 12 teams while the women were 10th out of 12 squads. Of the nine squads in front of the women, eight were Division II schools. The men finished with 187 points with Carnegie Mellon winning with 27 points. The women, meanwhile record 244 points and Slippery Rock won the women's race with 66 points.

The freshmen classes on both squads had solid showings for SU as three freshmen male runners were among the first six Crusaders across the finish and the top two finishers for the women were rookies, as well.

The next two finishers for Susquehanna were freshmen Colin Eberhardt (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Sachem North) (27:42.6) and sophomore Alex Price (Sky Top, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) (28:03.8).

On the women's side, freshman Ashley West (East Hampton, N.Y./East Hampton) was the team's top finisher for the third-straight race as she put together a time of 23:21.5 on the 6k course to place 18th overall and set a PR. Classmate Rachel Bachman (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) was next to finish for SU with a time of 24:54.0, which also marked a personal-best.

Senior Carly Bass (Flanders, N.J./Mount Olive) was less than a minute behind (25.34.7) to place 67th and Kimmie Leonhardt (Milford, N.J./Delaware Valley Regional) crossed the finish in 26:36.5.
