
TOWSON, Md. – Following Saturday’s men’s and
women’s Landmark Conference championship meet, a combined
eight male and female Susquehanna cross country runners earned
All-Conference honors which were officially announced on
Tuesday.
Six men and two women were All-Conference runners for the
Crusaders. To earn First-Team honors, an athlete must have finished
in the top seven while Second-Team honors were awarded to those who
finished in the eight through 14 spots.
On the men’s side, Susquehanna had four First-Team and two
Second-Team selections. The First-Team honorees were Alex
Price (Skytop, Pa./Pocono Mountain East), Colin
Eberhardt (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Sachem North),
Paul Crowe (Boalsburg, Pa./State College Area) and
John Crowe (Boalsburg, Pa./State College Area).
The four runners swept the two through five spots. Meanwhile,
Brandon Mash (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) and
Dan Isenberg (Danville, Pa./Warrior Run), finished
eighth and ninth, respectively, to earn Second-Team accolades.
As a team, SU picked up its fifth Landmark Conference title in the
seven-year history of the conference with a meet record 22 points.
Head coach Marty Owens was named the Male Cross
Country Coach of the Year for the fifth time in his career.
For the women, sophomore Ashley West (East Hampton,
N.Y./East Hampton) was fourth overall as she picked up her
second-straight First-Team selection. Senior Shannon Galvin
(Jamison, Pa./Central Bucks South) took 13th to
earn her first career All-Conference honor in cross country with a
Second-Team recognition.
Both teams return to action on Nov. 16 at the Mideast Regional
meet, hosted by Lehigh University.
