TOWSON, Md. – The Susquehanna men's cross country team has been picked to repeat as Landmark Conference champions in 2014.

SU, which captured its fifth Landmark title in seven years last fall, received 66 points (five first-place votes) to edge Juniata (two first-place votes) and Elizabethtown, which tied for second with 50 points each. Moravian received 38 points (one first-place vote) to place fourth, followed by USMMA (25 points), Scranton (20), Catholic (16) and Goucher (7).

The Crusaders return six of their top eight runners from last year's conference championship meet, including five All-Conference runners from a 2013 squad that placed ninth in the region. In addition, 12th-year head coach Marty Owens has added three talented freshmen to its roster this season.

Susquehanna opens the season on Aug. 30 at the Bison Open, hosted by Bucknell University. The Landmark Conference championships are being held on Nov. 1 at Goucher College.
