Men’s Cross Country Breaks into National Poll

NEW ORLEANS, La. – For the first time under 12th-year head coach Marty Owens, the Susquehanna men's cross country team is nationally ranked. The Crusaders are 29th in this week's United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Poll.

SU, which has been receiving votes in the national poll for the past two weeks, is also currently ranked fifth in the USTFCCCA Mideast Region, the highest-ranked Landmark Conference men's team.

The Crusaders broke into the national rankings following an impressive performance at last weekend's Lock Haven Invitational where they finished second overall and were the top Division III team. In addition, five SU runners finished in the top 20.

The team returns to competition on Oct. 4 at the Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh University.
