Men’s, Women’s Cross Country Set for Championships

TOWSON, Md. – The Susquehanna men's and women's cross country teams will compete in the 2014 Landmark Conference Championships this Saturday, Nov. 1.

The meet will be held at the campus of Goucher College with the men's race at 11 a.m. and the women to follow at noon.

The men's team is looking for back-to-back titles after having won last year's title in record-setting fashion. SU was predicted to win the championship in the preseason poll and enter Saturday's meet ranked seventh in the Mideast Region by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), ahead of any other Landmark Conference men's squad.

The women's race should be competitive. Moravian was selected to win the title prior to the start of the season but first-year conference member Elizabethtown is expected to challenge along with SU. Meanwhile, Susquehanna junior Ashley West (East Hampton, N.Y./East Hampton) boasts the fastest 6,000 meter time in the conference this year and is expected to compete for the individual title.
