Second-Place Finish for Men’s Cross Country

TOWSON, Md. – The Susquehanna men's cross country team's search for back-to-back Landmark Conference titles fell short as SU took home second place at Saturday's championship meet.

The Crusaders finished with 61 points while Elizabethtown won the title in its first year in as a Landmark member with 32 points.

SU, which had several top runners battling nagging injuries, put three runners in the top 10 on the 8k course. Alex Price (Skytop, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) and Colin Eberhardt (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Sachem North) captured third and fourth, respectively, with times of 26:43.8 and 26:47.1. John Crowe (Boalsburg, Pa./State College Area) also had a top-10 performance as his time of 27:23.1 placed him eighth.

Senior Evan Skelton (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) had an impressive race, finishing 24th overall with a time of 28:27.3. Just two places behind him were Dan Isenberg (Danville, Pa./Warrior Run) (28:28.0) and Paul Crowe (Boalsburg, Pa./State College Area) (28:38.6).

The next three SU runners across the finish were separated by a mere five seconds with Justin Skavery (Mt. Carmel, Pa./Mt. Carmel) posting a time of 28:56.5, followed by Kyle Skelton (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) (28:56.7) and Pat Brown (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) (29:01.0).

The Crusaders have one week off from competition before competing at the Mideast Regionals on Nov. 15, hosted by Dickinson College.
