Crowe Leads Men to Solid Finish at Lock Haven

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – John Crowe (Boalsburg, Pa./State College Area) was the top collegiate finisher at the Lock Haven Invitational and the Susquehanna men's cross country team placed eighth out of 16 teams on Saturday morning.

Crowe crossed the finish of the 8k course in 25:34.12, good for sixth overall. It was also a personal best for the senior, surpassing his previous career best time of 25:50.20.

Kyle Skelton (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) was next across the line with his time of 26:52.80, 59th overall and a PR. Three places behind him was Dan Isenberg (Danville, Pa./Warrior Run) with a time of 27:00.5.

Justin Skavery (Mt. Carmel, Pa./Mt. Carmel) posted a personal-best time of 27:10.68, the 69th best time of the day, while Mark Harrel (Clinton, N.J./North Hunterdon) was just seconds behind with a time of 27:15.31, also a career-best time.

SU's sixth finisher was Peter Lynch (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Ludden), who posted a time of 27:49.99 (a PR) and was followed by John Matthews (Honey Brook, Pa./Twin Valley) who ran a 28:23.86 in his first collegiate race.

The team returns to action on Oct. 2 at the Paul Short Invitational.
