SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna men's cross country runner John Crowe and field hockey player Alyssa Rothman have been named Susquehanna's SAAC/Pepsi Super Crusaders for the week ending October 31.
Crowe finished fifth out of 96 runners at the Landmark Conference Cross Country Championships. He covered the hilly 8k (4.96 mile) course in 27:05. His time was only 22 seconds off the top time of the day. His fifth place finish tied his highest finish at a Landmark Conference championship and earned himself First-Team Landmark Conference Honors. He led the men to their second consecutive second-place finish.
The Crusaders compete at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional meet on Nov. 14, hosted by Dickinson College.
Rothman played 100 minutes plus the shootout in SU's 2-1 win at Goucher on Saturday. She totaled 16 saves and only allowed one goal. Two of her saves came in the critical second overtime period and she finished the game with a .941 save percentage.
This season Rothman played 971:18 minutes out of a possible 1,161. She finished with 79 saves, a 1.23 goals against average and a .823 save percentage. She compiled a 10-5 record with four shutouts.
SU finished the season 11-5 overall, with a 4-3 mark in Landmark Conference play. This marks the most wins since 12 in 2010.
