Crowe Earns Spot at NCAA Championships

NEWVILLE, Pa. – Susquehanna senior John Crowe qualified for the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships with his ninth-place finish at Saturday's NCAA Mideast Regional meet. This marks the second-straight year and seventh time in the last nine years the SU men have sent a runner to the championship meet.

As a team, the Crusaders were 14th overall with 404 points. They were just 68 points shy of a top-10 team finish. Haverford won the team title with 67 points.

Crowe finished the 8k course with a time of 25:45.00 for ninth in the field of 371 runners to earn All-Region honors in addition to qualifying for Nationals. Crowe will compete at the NCAA Championship race on Nov. 21 in Winneconne, Wisc. Wisconsin-Osh Kosh is the host institution for the championship meet.

Seniors Colin Eberhardt and Dan Isenberg were 55th and 56th with respective times of 26:44.10 and 26:46.80. Next across the finish for the Crusaders was Mark Harrel with a time of 27:40.50 while Justin Skavery posted a time of 28:29.50.

Rounding out the finishers for SU were Peter Lynch (29:12.40) and John Matthews (30:25.00).
