Men’s Cross Country Places Fifth at Championships

QUICK HIT: The Susquehanna men's cross country team placed fifth at the 2016 Landmark Conference Cross Country Championship meet. The meet was held at Bicentennial Park in Northampton, Pa.

TOP TEAM: Elizabethtown won the championship title with 31 points. The Blue Jays were followed by Juniata (47 points), Scranton (69), Moravian (96) and SU (126).

INDIVIDUAL WINNER: Conor Dimond of Juniata won the individual title with his time of 25:53.08 on the 8k course.

TOP RIVER HAWK: Ciaran Fisher was first across the finish for SU, posting a career-best time of 27:09.00 to take 15th overall and finish just one spot out of earning All-Conference honors.

REMAINING TOP SEVEN: Justin Skavery was 21 seconds behind with a time of 27:30.98 to finish 22nd in the 85-runner field. He was followed by Mark Harrel in 25th (27:39.33), Evan Moore in 32nd (27:48.58) and Brandon Sorge in 42nd (28:30.57). Rounding out the top seven were John Matthews (28:53.36) and Kyle Skelton (29:00.29).

OTHER FINISHERS: Eric Pressler crossed the finish in 29:02.29 while Torin McFarland went 29:32.47 and Peter Lynch posted a time of 29:55.44. Kaleb Waiwada went 30:05.61 and he was followed by Chase Wallace (30:26.73), Nate Adler (31:57.65) and Robert Masters.

PERSONAL BESTS: In addition to Fisher's PR, Moore, Sorge, Pressler, Waiwada, Wallace and Adler all posted career-best times.
