Ciaran Fisher was the top finisher in the 4K race for the Susquehanna University Men's Cross Country team and Eric Pressler was the top River Hawks finisher in the 8K event as both groups of Susquehanna runners had solid finishes at the Dickinson Long/Short Invitational Saturday afternoon in Carlisle.
Fisher clocked a 12:38.1 to take 9th place overall in the 4K race as the River Hawks placed 12th out of 20 teams. Leonard Bolinsky was the second finisher for the River Hawks with a time of 14:04.6 in 58th position and rounding out the scoring for Susquehanna was Robert Sattler who crossed the line in 72nd place with a time of 14:43.7.
In the 8K race, Pressler was the top Susquehanna runner with a 49th place finish and a time of 28:28.2 leading the team to a 15th place finish in the team competition out of 22 teams. Teammate Kyle Skelton was next in 54th position in a time of 28:38.8 and Brandon Sorge was the final River Hawks scoring runner in 63rd place with a time of 29:32.6.
Messiah won the 8K team title and Misericordia was the fastest team in the 4K race.
The River Hawks are off until October 14 for the Gettysburg Invitational.
