SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Softball and baseball are represented as April’s Pepsi/SAAC Rookies of the Month as Jamie Fesinstine (Long Valley, N.J. / West Morris Central) and Taylor Luckenbill (Pottsville, Pa. / Nativity BVM) have been selected.
Fesinstine, who was named the Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year, went 5-0 with one save and four complete games in Landmark regular season games. The pitcher threw 39.1 innings with a 2.85 ERA, striking out 27 batters.
Overall, Fesinstine went 10-9 with two saves in 113 innings. The righty had 11 complete games and a 3.28 ERA for the season.
Luckenbill, meanwhile, finished April with a team-best .389 average and 56 hits, setting the freshman single season hits record.
In Landmark games, Luckenbill hit .432 (32-74) with 15 runs, six doubles, 16 RBI, .481 on-base percentage and a .514 slugging percentage.
Overall, Luckenbill was second in the conference in hits, third in at-bats, fifth in average and tied for sixth in doubles.
