Two Wins Equals Perfection in Landmark Conference Action

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Susquehanna softball team remains undefeated in Landmark Conference action as SU won both doubleheader games at Juniata Friday.

In game one, Jamie Fesinstine pitched a one-hit, complete game shut-out in the Crusaders' 10-0 victory. Claire Hanratty was 3-3 at the plate with two runs scored while Emilie Boman was 3-4 with two RBI's and one run scored. Amanda Neveroski and Jackie Gore were 3-5 at the plate with Neveroski picking up five RBI's.

In game two, Susquehanna won 4-3 with Alexa Gonzalez (3-2) earning the win and Fesinstine earning the save. Neveroski was 3-4 at the plate with two RBI's and one run scored while Boman was 2-4 with one RBI and a run scored.

The Crusaders out hit the Eagles in game one 13-1 and scored one run in the first inning on a Boman double to score. SU scored again in the second when Neveroski singled and plated two for a 3-0 lead. Susquehanna did not score again until the sixth inning when Boman doubled to score Heather Pearson to take a 4-0 lead and a six-run seventh put the game out of reach for Juniata as SU won 10-0.

In the second game of the day, the Crusaders scored first in the third inning when Neveroski singled to give SU the 2-0 lead. Boman singled in the fifth to score Neveroski and Lauren Creamer followed with a double to score Boman and give the Crusaders the 4-0 lead.

Juniata answered with three runs in the second half of the inning but it would not be enough as SU won 4-3.

The Crusaders return to action on Wednesday, March 30 when they host Cedar Crest for a doubleheader starting at 3:00 p.m.
