Softball Splits on Day One of Seagull Classic

Landmark Conference Announces Spring All-Academic Team
The Landmark Conference has announced the selection of 32 student-athletes to the 2011 Spring Landmark All-Academic Team. Representing Susquehanna was men’s tennis player Bruce Osborn ’11 track athlete Joe Zamadics ’12, softball player Kate Reese ’12 and track athlete Alycia Woodruff ’11.

Seventy-Four Student-Athletes Earn Academic Honor Roll Status
Seventy-four Susquehanna student-athletes have been named to the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll. A total of 279 student-athletes from the eight Landmark institutions were named to the honor roll for completing the spring season with a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher.

Changes Announced for Women’s Soccer Staff, Administration
It has been announced that there will be several internal changes to the Susquehanna women’s soccer coaching staff, starting this summer. Current assistant coach Andrew Zechman has been elevated to head coach, as former head coach Kathy Kroupa has been promoted to Assistant Athletic Director, in addition to her title as the Crusaders’ head softball coach.

Trailing 5-2 heading into the final inning in the nightcap of Susquehanna’s softball doubleheader at Elizabethtown, SU was able to put two runs on the board but fell just short of completing the comeback in a 5-4 loss. Senior Cara Swerdlow tossed a four-hit shutout and in the process became Susquehanna’s all-time winningest pitcher as she now has 45 victories over her four-year career. The Crusaders swept Gettysburg 1-0 and 7-2 to extend their winning streak to an impressive 10 games.
