Catching Up With...Ainsley Rossitto
This week, the Susquehanna Athletic Communications office “Catches Up With” junior Ainsley Rossitto, a member of the women’s basketball and lacrosse teams.
Name: Ainsley Rossitto
Sport(s): Women's Basketball and Lacrosse
Class: 2013
Major: International Studies with a comparative cultural
concentration, English and Spanish minor
Birthday: September 20, 1991
Why did you choose your major?
My interest in international studies began in high school when I
traveled to China on a mini-study abroad program that my school
offered. I absolutely loved the experience and went on to do
similar programs in Paraguay, Costa Rica and South Africa before I
graduated. I most enjoyed being out of my comfort zone and immersed
in all aspects of a foreign culture from learning a new language to
meeting all types of different people even trying the exotic
cuisine. I knew I wanted to be an international studies major as
soon as I heard about the program Susquehanna offered because it
paralleled my worldly interests.
Have you studied abroad? If so, when and where and what
was your favorite memory or experience from your time
abroad?
I have not studied abroad yet. I am planning to do an internship in
Washington D.C. this summer.
I would like to work in a study abroad office at a school and eventually establish my own study abroad/ exchange program organization.
Why did you choose to play two sports at SU?
I chose to play two sports at SU because I played three varsity sports in high school and I didn't want to give up either lacrosse or basketball. And frankly, I think I’d be very bored if I only played one.
What is your favorite athletic memory as a
Crusader?
Winning Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Week last year
for lacrosse.
"Eye of The Tiger” by Survivor - it's a classic and never fails to get my adrenaline pumping.
What is your nickname on your teams?
On the basketball team some people call me “Little
Bear.”
The most embarrassing thing that’s happened to me
on the playing field or basketball court is….
Surprisingly, I can't think of anything...
Your favorite midnight snack is…
Popcorn
If you could meet anyone, alive or dead, who would it be and
why?
My aunt who passed away before I was born because from all the
stories I have heard about her she seemed to be an amazing
person.
Italy to visit the places my relatives are from.
Do you have any unique talents/hobbies?
I have played the drums since I was eight years old.

marsala.
