Jim Reed completed his fifth season as the head women's golf
coach at Susquehanna University in 2009-10.
Reed was named the head women's basketball and head women's golf
coach in August 2005 after serving as the head women's basketball
coach at Wilkes University since July 2001.
Reed also served as an assistant women's basketball coach at
Susquehanna under Mark Hribar for three seasons from 1989 to 1992
and as a men’s basketball assistant under Frank Marcinek for
two seasons from 1992 to 1994.
During his previous stint at Susquehanna, Reed also served as an
assistant baseball coach from 1991 to 1994 and as the school's head
women's tennis coach during the 1993-94 season.
After leaving Susquehanna, Reed served as an assistant men's
basketball coach at the NCAA Division II University of Indianapolis
during the 1994-95 season and as an assistant girls' basketball
coach at Indian Valley (Pa.) High School for three seasons from
1995 to 1998.
In 1998, Reed returned to his alma mater in Division I Bucknell
University as an assistant women's basketball coach and helped the
Bison to a then school-record 20 victories during the 2000-01
season before moving on to Wilkes.
Reed graduated from Bucknell in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science
degree in civil engineering. He worked as a structural engineer for
four years before pursuing a career in coaching. He played one
season of football as a defensive back at Bucknell and lettered
twice in track & field.
He is a native of Reedsville, Pa., and is a 1980 graduate of the
former Kishacoquillas (Pa.) High School and a 1981 graduate of
Mercersburg Academy (Pa.).
