Second Time’s a Charm for Stankaitis
MADISON, N.J. – For the second week in a row, Susquehanna
junior women’s lacrosse goalkeeper Emily Stankaitis
(Honeoye Falls, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) was named the
Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
Stankaitis’s efforts in goal helped propel the Crusaders to
a 2-0 week with wins over Marymount (Va.) and at Alvernia. Against
Marymount, she recorded seven saves in SU’s 20-6 win and
racked up 18 more saves in a 19-11 Susquehanna win against
Alvernia.
For the season, Stankaitis has started all five games and boasts
an 8.40 goals-against average (GAA), .607 save percentage and has
tallied 65 saves in her 300 minutes of work.
The Crusaders take their five-game, season-opening win streak on
the road Wednesday to face Lebanon Valley at 4 p.m.
