SU Women’s Lax Earns National Ranking
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Susquehanna women’s lacrosse
team, in the midst of one of the winningest seasons in program
history, is ranked 20th in the nation in this
week’s IWLCA Division III Poll.
The Crusaders, who had received votes in previous weeks’
polls, are currently 12-1 overall on the season. SU won its first
11 games and rebounded from its lone loss by defeating Goucher 15-7
last Saturday.
In the most recent NCAA statistical rankings, the Crusaders are
13th in the nation in scoring offense (16.50 goals per
game) and tied for ninth in win percentage (.917).
Individually, goalie Emily Stankaitis (Honeoye Falls,
N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) is second in save percentage
(.574), 20th in goals-against average (8.36),
25th in saves per game (10.69) and 33rd in
saves (139) and. Teammate Michelle McGinnis (Randolph,
N.J./Randolph) is ranked seventh in draw controls (7.46
per game).
The Crusaders host their final home game of the regular season on
Wednesday with a 4 p.m. game against McDaniel.
