Three NCAA Selections for SU Athletics; Women’s Lax to Host on Wednesday

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Following a historic Saturday in which three Susquehanna spring sports captured Landmark Conference championships, all three programs have been selected to their respective NCAA Division III Tournaments, with women’s lacrosse set to host an opening round game on Wednesday, May 8 at 3 p.m.

Women’s lacrosse defeated Catholic 16-9 to win its first Landmark title and second conference championship since 2002 when the team was a member of the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC).

The No. 11-ranked Crusaders (17-0) learned on Sunday evening that they will host SUNY-Geneseo (12-5) on Wednesday at 3 p.m. Live stats can be found here and video accessed here.

The men’s program captured its first-ever conference title later on Saturday with a 6-3 victory over Merchant Marine.

On Sunday evening, the Crusaders (12-6) learned they will travel to No. 8 Salisbury (14-5) on Wednesday at 3 p.m. Live stats, video and audio can be found here.

The 21st-ranked softball team (37-7) forced a final game seven on Saturday evening and won the conference title over Catholic, 3-2, in eight innings.

The Crusaders learned on Monday morning they will compete as the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Division III Softball Tournament in the Montclair State Region.

The Crusaders face No. 7 seed Farmingdale State (24-15) on Thursday at 5 p.m. in the double-elimination tournament.

Ticket prices at all the NCAA events are $3 for adults, $2 for students of all competing institutions with valid ID and $1 for children.
