BERWICK, Pa. - Many members of the Susquehanna women's lacrosse team spent their Sunday afternoon on April 10 volunteering at Haven to Home Canine Rescue in Berwick, Pa.
The team was fresh off a conference road win at Scranton the previous day but rather than taking the afternoon to relax or rehash the victory, the women donated their time to help an organization that operates strictly on the efforts of volunteers.
The players did everything from scrubbing kennels to cleaning the building to tidying supplies. And obviously they took time to give the shelter animals some love and attention!
Susquehanna University kicked off its annual SU Serve weekend on Sunday, as well. SU Serve is a month-long campaign that challenges students, faculty staff and alumni to donate more than 10,000 volunteer hours of their time.
