Trio of Women’s Lacrosse Players Named All-Region

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Three Susquehanna women's lacrosse players have earned All-Boardwalk Region recognition from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).

Senior attack Annie McElaney was a First-Team All-Region selection while junior defender Shannon Kinney and senior defender Zoe Lycett were Second-Team recipients.

McElaney, who was a First-Team All-Landmark Conference player this season, finished the spring with 60 goals and 17 assists for 77 points. Her goals led all Landmark Conference players while her 77 points are currently second-best in the Conference. McElaney, a team captain, also had 34 ground balls, 31 draw controls and 14 caused turnovers.

For her career, McElaney is fifth all-time in program history in points (183) and goals (148) and is sixth in draw control wins (117).

Kinney, the lone junior in the trio to earn All-Region recognition, appeared in 17 games this season and had a team-high 58 ground balls to go along with 30 draw controls, 21 caused turnovers, 10 goals and one assist. Her 58 ground balls are currently fourth-best among all Conference players.

Lycett, meanwhile, started all 17 games and finished the season with a team-high 25 caused turnovers and 31 ground balls – third-best on the team. Lycett, a team captain, and the SU defense forced 333 opponent turnovers this season versus just 291 by Susquehanna. She also added a goal and was named an All-Landmark Conference First-Team player.

Susquehanna finished the season with an 8-9 record and earned the No. 2 seed in the Landmark Conference Tournament where the Crusaders fell to Scranton in a semifinal matchup.
