Susquehanna Falls in Double Overtime to Muhlenberg, 3-2

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- Susquehanna University's junior back Julia Amendola (Mountain Top, Pa./Bishop Hoban) and freshman midfielder Allison Abey (Ewing, N.J./Ewing) each scored a goal, while senior forward Andrea Fiori (West Trenton, N.J./Lawrenceville) and sophomore back Laurel Monaghan (East Fallowfield, Pa./Coatesville Area) recorded assists, but host Muhlenberg College won, 3-2 in double overtime, in a non-conference field hockey game at Scotty Wood Stadium on Sept. 4.
Muhlenberg (1-1 overall), led Susquehanna (0-2 overall), 2-0, after scoring twice in the first 10 minutes of the game. That was before SU's Abey deflected a long hit from Monaghan into net in the 31st minute and Amendola scored her first goal of the year in the 40th minute to tie the game at 2.
SU's sophomore goalkeeper Erin Ferguson (Mount Laurel, N.J./Seneca) made five of her seven saves in the second half, three coming after Amendola tied the score.
Muhlenberg scored the game-winner just 2 minutes, 17 seconds into the second overtime to end the game.
