April 11: Susquehanna 10, Goucher 18

TOWSON, Md. -- Susquehanna University's sophomore midfielder
Sarah Wright (Princeton, N.J./Princeton HS) notched three goals and
two assists, but visiting Susquehanna lost a Landmark Conference
game to Goucher College, 18-10, at Gopher Stadium on April 11.
Wright also had one ground ball and three draw controls to add to
her all-around game for the Crusaders (6-5, 0-3 Landmark).
Sophomore midfielder Sara Franckowiak (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon
Central) tallied two goals, two assists, one ground ball and a draw
control against Goucher (5-6, 1-2 Landmark).
Sophomore midfielder D.J. Jacobs (Sparta, N.J./Sparta) collected a
goal and an assist for the Orange and Maroon, while four additional
SU players--freshmen midfielders Erin Dyer (West Caldwell,
N.J./James Caldwell) and Caroline Sisson (Baltimore, Md./McDonogh)
and senior midfielders Katelyn Deese (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley)
and Cindy Wilson (West Chester, Pa./Henderson)--netted a goal
apiece.
Jacobs also added two ground balls and two draw controls. Deese
caused a game-high three turnovers and picked up a team-high four
draw controls, while Dyer tallied a team-high five ground
balls.
Despite falling behind, 13-4, in the first half, the Crusaders
turned the game around to outscore Goucher, 6-5, in the second
stint of play. Susquehanna also outshot the Gophers, 36-25, and
scooped up 28 ground balls, four more than the host squad. The
teams split the draw controls, winning 15 each during the game.
Senior Meredith Tompeck (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) suffered the
loss in goal, making three saves in 53 minutes, 18 seconds of play.
Freshman Pamela Keilig (Hopkinton, N.H./Hopkinton) made no saves in
5:48 in goal.
The game was cut 54 seconds short due to unplayable conditions
caused by rain.
