Susquehanna Lands Two Players on All-Landmark Conference Team

MADISON, N.J. -- Susquehanna University landed two players on
the 2009 all-Landmark Conference women's lacrosse team on May
6.
Sophomore Sarah Wright (Princeton, N.J./Princeton HS) and senior
Katelyn Deese (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley) were the honorees at
attack and midfielder, respectively. Both players landed on the
all-Landmark second team.
Wright led the Crusaders with 37 goals, three game-winning goals,
17 assists, 54 points and 36 draw controls in 2009. She also picked
up 25 ground balls and caused 11 turnovers. Her 2.85 goals and 4.15
points per game both rank third in the conference. Wright's three
game-winning goals are tied for the Landmark high, and her 2.77
draw controls per game stand fifth.
Deese tallied 12 goals and nine assists for 21 points and added a
team-high 56 ground balls and 31 caused turnovers to go with 25
draw controls. Her 4.31 ground balls per game lead the conference,
and her 2.38 caused turnovers per game rank third.
Susquehanna finished with a record of 7-6 in 2009, including a
season-opening 6-1 run. The Crusaders finished the year with a
24-16 win at Moravian College on April 25 on the strength of an
impressive game-high eight goals from Wright. Wright also had two
assists and five draw controls in that game. Deese also collected
five draw controls and two assists against Moravian to go with
three goals, three ground balls and a game-high three caused
turnovers.
