Price Leads Susquehanna Past PSU-Harrisburg, 2-0
SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- Susquehanna University's sophomore midfielder Samantha Price (Minersville, Pa./Minersville Area) scored two goals in the first half to propel Susquehanna (1-1-1 overall) over Penn State University-Harrisburg (2-1-0 overall), 2-0, in a non-conference women's soccer game at Sassafras Fields on Sept. 8.
Price's first career goal came in the eighth
minute on an open net as the Lady Lions goalie challenged a pass
from senior forward Abby Montgomery (Hughesville,
Pa./Hughesville). Montgomery picked up an
assist on the play.
The sophomore recorded her second goal on a through ball from
junior forward Alison Chavers (Freehold,
N.J./Ranney) in the 20th minute, tallying the final score
of the game.
Senior goalkeeper Alyssa Kemmerer (Berwick, Pa./Berwick
Area) earned her first shutout this season and second of
her career, stopping eight shots on the afternoon.
The Crusaders held a 13-1 advantage in corner kicks.
