Susquehanna Women's Swimming Tops Catholic, 140-116

SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- Susquehanna University's junior
Christie Savard (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) recorded
the fastest time in three events, including a
school-record-breaking 400-yard individual-medley performance, to
lead host Susquehanna past The Catholic University of America
(1-2), 140-116, in a women's meet at the James W. Garrett Sports
Complex swimming pool on Nov. 7.
Savard broke her own Susquehanna (4-0) record in
the 400 IM with the fastest time of 4 minutes, 48.99 seconds. Her
old record was 4:51.04, set last season. Savard
also won the 100 freestyle and 200 butterfly in 57.12 seconds and
2:14.31, respectively.
Freshman Devin Lessard (Chestertown, Md./Queen Anne's
County) won the 200 and 500 frees and 100 fly in times of
2:02.85, 5:34.67 and 1:02.32, while also teaming with seniors
Catherine Harris (Miller Place,
N.Y./Miller Place), Hayley Keenan (Pikesville,
Md./Liberty HS) and Cristina Los (Succasunna,
N.J./Roxbury) to win the 200 medley relay in 1:56.42.
Harris and Keenan were also part of the fastest 200 free relay, teaming with junior Lauren Snyder (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) and freshman Jamie Platt (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) to post a time of 1:46.87.
Snyder also touched the wall first in the 1,000 free and 200 backstroke in times of 11:32.35 and 2:20.88, respectively.
Harris won 50 free as well in a time of 26.19
seconds, while Keenan also won the 100 back in
1:04.22.
