SU Women One of CollegeSwimmingAwards.com's 2009-10 Break-Out Teams
ANNAPOLIS, Md., July 19 -- CollegeSwimmingAwards.com recognized Susquehanna University as one of its Female Break-Out Teams for the 2009-10 season. This is the first season that CollegeSwimmingAwards.com has handed out yearly awards, which are open to teams across all levels of collegiate competition.

SU's Savard Finishes NCAA Championships 19th in 200 Back
MINNEAPOLIS -- Susquehanna University's junior Christie Savard (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) placed 19th out of 30 swimmers in the preliminaries of the 200-yard backstroke at the 2009-10 NCAA Division III women's swimming & diving championships at the University of Minnesota's University Aquatic Center on March 20. She has not qualified for that event's finals.

MINNEAPOLIS -- Susquehanna University's junior Christie Savard (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) placed 31st out of 32 swimmers in the preliminaries of the 400-yard individual medley at the 2009-10 NCAA Division III women's swimming & diving championships at the University of Minnesota's University Aquatic Center on March 18. She has not qualified for that event's finals.

READING, Pa. -- Susquehanna University's freshman Devin Lessard (Chestertown, Md./Queen Anne's County) won three individual events, including a school-record-mark of 11 minutes, 5.52 seconds in the 1,000-yard freestyle, but Susquehanna (8-3) lost a women's swimming meet at Albright College (8-2), 108-97, on Jan. 30.

LANCASTER, Pa. -- Susquehanna University's junior Christie Savard (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) was all or part of seven school records and won the 200-yard backstroke in an NCAA Division III championships "B" standard and meet-record time of 2 minutes, 6.04 seconds to help the Susquehanna women's swimming team finish eighth out of 13 teams at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational, held at Kunkel Aquatic Center from Dec. 5-6.

The women's swimming & diving coaches and sports information directors at each Landmark institution that sponsors the sport were polled for the ballot.

SELINSGROVE, Pa., Sept. 7 -- Susquehanna University's men's tennis and women's swimming & diving teams were honored with Susquehanna's Top GPA Cup during halftime of the SU-Moravian College football game on Sept. 5. The Cup honors, through the university's NCAA CHAMPS/Life Skills program, the Crusaders sports team with the highest combined grade point average during the 2008-09 school year.
