Christie Savard Is Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week Again

MADISON, N.J. -- The Landmark Conference honored Susquehanna University junior Christie Savard (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) as its women's swimming & diving Athlete of the Week for the fourth time this season on Jan. 25.

Savard swam all or part of the fastest times in four events, including a school-record performance in the 500-yard freestyle, to help Susquehanna top Drew University, 80-31, and King's College (Pa.), 85-36, on Jan. 23.

She won two individual events, taking the 200 butterfly with a time of 2 minutes, 17.21 seconds and the 500 free in 5:22.21. The previous SU record in the 500 was set in 1999. Savard also swam a leg on two relays that touched the wall first--the 200 medley in 1:56.46 and the 200 free in 1:47.70.
