Susquehanna Shuts Out Penn State-Altoona on Senior Night, 3-0
SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- Susquehanna University's junior outside
hitter Lindsey Jankiewicz (Easton, Pa./Freedom)
recorded a match-high 12 kills to lead Susquehanna over visiting
Penn State University-Altoona (15-12 overall), 3-0, in a
non-conference women's volleyball match on Senior Night at Orlando
W. Houts Gymnasium on Oct. 29.
SU's senior middle hitters Jess Cicioni (Frackville,
Pa./North Schuylkill) and Madeline Hals
(Morristown, N.J./Morristown) and senior opposite hitter
Katie Peters (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) each
tied a match-high with four total blocks to lead the Crusaders
(22-11 overall) over the Lady Lions, 25-22, 25-18, 25-12.
Crusaders sophomore setter Shona St. Angelo (Manorville,
N.Y./Eastport-South Manor) posted a match-high 34 assists.
Teammate and freshman libero Kelly O'Brien (Mastic,
N.Y./Eastport-South Manor) led the way on defense with a
match-high 23 digs.
Senior defensive specialist/opposite hitter Erin McMahon
(Catawissa, Pa./Out Lady of Lourdes Regional) contributed
two kills, five digs and two blocks for Susquehanna.
