SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Football and women’s soccer are
represented as the Pepsi/SAAC Super Crusader Rookies of the Month
for October as defensive back Nick Aigeldinger (Mountain
Top, Pa. / Crestwood) and midfielder Alexandra
Mason (Stratham, N.H. / Portsmouth Christian Academy) were
Aigeldinger ran an interception 28 yards for a touchdown to begin the fourth quarter as the Crusaders knocked off Franklin & Marshall 24-17 last Saturday. He also registered three tackles for SU.
Against Ursinus on Oct. 19, he recorded two tackles and in the 38-18 victory at Moravian, Aigeldinger had three tackles and one pass breakup.
In 2012, he has appeared in all eight contests, racking up 28 tackles (21 solo) with two tackles for loss, two interceptions, three pass break ups and five passes defended.
Aigeldinger and the Crusaders travel to McDaniel this Saturday at 1:00 p.m. for their final road game of the season.
Mason appeared in all 16 women’s soccer matches this fall, including seven starts. She finished the campaign tied for second on the team with two goals and two assists for six points. Mason had 19 shots, thirteen shots on goal and one game-winning goal.
She picked up her two assists against Goucher on Oct. 13 and Oct. 25 at Penn College.
