Win Streak Continues for Women’s Soccer

THE MAIN STORY: A four-goal second half propelled the Susquehanna women's soccer team to a 4-0 shutout of Hood on Tuesday afternoon in Frederick, Md.

WIN STREAK: SU's win streak is now at three, with two of those three victories coming on the road.

TEAM RECORDS: Susquehanna is now 7-2-0 overall while Hood now stands at 2-5-1.

ANOTHER SHUTOUT: Tuesday's blanking of the Blazers marked the River Hawks' fourth shutout of the fall and second in the last three games.

TURNING POINT: Mairead Ruane's goal just 1:45 into the second half was the game winner as it put Susquehanna ahead 1-0 and the SU defense held Hood without a goal for the entire 90 minutes.

GOAL-SCORING FRENZY: Ruane's goal sparked a run of three more River Hawks goals over a 22-minute span. Cassie Coombs and Alyssa Bolger scored in the 52nd and 63rd minutes, respectively, and Geena Ragozine tacked on an insurance goal in the 74th minute. Ruane assisted on Coombs' goal, bringing her point total for the day to three.

QUIET DAY IN GOAL
: Starting goalie Jordyn Slocum did not have to make a single save in her one half of work. Jennifer Thorsheim played the second half and forced into making just one save.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: The River Hawks held a 25-5 edge in shots and put 12 of those shots on goal. The Blazers, meanwhile, had just five shots with only one on goal. Bolger led all players with four shots and nine other River Hawks took at least two shots apiece.
