QUICK STORY: The Susquehanna women's soccer team fell 3-2 in overtime to Landmark Conference rival the University of Scranton at home Saturday afternoon in overtime.
RECORDS: Susquehanna drops to 9-3-0 overall with a 2-1-0 mark in Landmark action while Scranton improves to 10-1-1 and 3-0-0.
SECOND HALF: Neither team was able to score in the first half as both defenses limited the other team's offense. Scranton managed to get off three shots while Susquehanna totaled two.
Alyssa Bolger nabbed the first goal of the game just over four minutes into the second half to give SU a 1-0 lead. Fifteen minutes later, the Royals tied the game at one with a goal from Jamie Hreniuk at the 64:31 mark.
Cassie Coombs gave SU the lead once again with a goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, Carolyn Warner scored at the 75:12 mark tie the game once again and ultimately send the game into overtime.
OVERTIME: Hreniuk scored her second goal of the game just under four minutes into overtime off an assist from Brittany Uricchio to give the Royals the 3-2 win.
LAST CHANCE: Coombs took the last shot for Susquehanna at the 95:12 mark but it went wide.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE: Coombs led SU in shots with three while Bolger tallied two. Goalie Jordyn Slocum made two saves in her 96:05 minutes of work. Scranton out-shot SU 11-7.
WHAT'S NEXT? The River Hawks hit the road on Wednesday, October 12 for a 7:00 p.m. game at Juniata.
