SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna women's soccer player Emily Sullivan and football player Nick Crusco have been named the SAAC High Flyers of the Week.
Sullivan scored three goals and had one assist in two games as SU went 2-0 in Landmark Conference action this week.
In the first game of the week, Susquehanna defeated Juniata 2-0 with Sullivan scoring both goals four minutes apart in the first half.
On Saturday, the River Hawks defeated Drew 2-0. Sullivan scored what turned out to be the game winner at the 57:47 mark. Sullivan then assisted on her teammate's insurance goal in the 82nd minute.
This season, Sullivan leads the team in points (14), goals (6) and game winners (5). She has started every game this season and has 33 shots and a shot-on-goal percentage of .515.
The River Hawks are 11-3-0 overall with a 4-1-0 mark in Landmark Conference action. Susquehanna returns home on Saturday, October 22 for Senior Day as the team hosts Elizabethtown at 1:00 p.m.
In his third start of the season, Crusco led a second-half comeback that resulted in a 35-34 SU win over Moravian. The River Hawks trailed 27-7 at halftime before rallying to win the game on a late, two-point conversion.
Crusco completed 18-of-26 passes for 207 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for 48 yards and four scores. His one-yard rushing touchdown with 49 seconds remaining in regulation left brought Susquehanna within one point of the lead (3433) and his two-point conversion pass to Lucas Garner proved to be the game-winning play.
Through three games, Crusco has thrown for 562 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 162 yards and five scores.
The River Hawks are 3-3 overall with a 3-2 mark in Centennial Conference action. Susquehanna remains on the road Saturday, October 22 for a 1:00 p.m. game at Ursinus.
