Senior Emily Sullivan won a 50-50 head ball in the box and Julia Hutsko finished the play with a shot into the back of the net with 2:34 left in the second overtime period as the Susquehanna University Women's Soccer team posted a 1-0 victory over Hartwick College Saturday afternoon as part of the Mayor's Cup Tournament in Oneonta, N.Y.
Susquehanna (3-0-1) battled with Hartwick (3-1) for the first 90 minutes of regulation, all of the first 10-minute overtime period and nearly all of the second overtime period before the River Hawks were able to score to end the contest to remain undefeated for the season.
The River Hawks were out shot in regulation by an 8-5 margin but had two of the three shots recorded in the overtime periods. Hartwick also took 5 corner kicks to just one for Susquehanna.
Julia Tolin remained undefeated in the Susquehanna goal with two saves.
The River Hawks continue play in the Mayor's Cup with a noon matchup at SUNY Oneonta Sunday.
