QUICK STORY: The Susquehanna women suffered losses against out of conference opponents Gettysburg and Messiah on Saturday during a tri-meet hosted at Gettysburg. Against Gettysburg, SU scored 116 to the Bullets' 145 and against Messiah, the women scored 124, just out of reach of the Falcons' who finished with a score of 137.
RECORD: The River Hawks are now 2-2 overall with a 2-0 mark in Landmark Conference action.
FIRST-PLACE FINISHES: Hannah Finton a set personal record in the 1000-yard freestyle with her first place time of 11:07.10. Megan Schaffer won the 100 and 200-yard backstroke with times of 1:01.06 and 2:11.61, respectively. Both times were PR's.
OTHER NOTABLE FINISHES: The River Hawks started the meet off with a third and fifth place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Erin McElwee, JoAnn Butkus, Maggie Palaski and Katie Willis placed third with their time of a 1:51.81, while the team of Shaffer, Megan Duck, Colleen Walsh and Lizzie Richart finished fifth (1:58.22). Caitlin Kelly took third in the 200-yard freestyle with a PR of 2:01.68, while Caroline Henderson finished sixth (2:05.15). McElwee placed fourth in the 100-yard backstroke with a 1:03.20 while Butkus (1:08.96) and Duck (1:12.90) finished second and fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke. Willis took second in both the 50 and 100-yard freestyle with times of 24.85 and 54.54, respectively. Kelly finished fourth (57.06) in the 100-yard freestyle, setting a PR. Butkus and Duck finished third (2:32.55) and fourth (2:38.80) respectively in the 200-yard breaststroke. In the 500-yard freestyle, SU took second and fourth with Kelly setting a PR in second (5:22.95) and Finton in fourth (5.30.33). Palaski and Julia Baur placed third and fifth in the 100-yard butterfly with their times of 1:01.06 and 1:02.66, respectively. In the 400-yard freestyle relay, the last event of the day, the River Hawks finished second (3:43.46) and fifth (3:53.13). The team of Willis, Kelly, Shaffer and Butkus finished second while the team of Palaski, Erin Wetmore, Finton and Richart finished third.
