Senior Ashlee Weingarten, junior Joann Butkus and sophomore Katie Willis posted three wins each leading the Susquehanna University Women's Swimming and Diving team to a convincing 170 ½ - 107 ½ victory over the University of Scranton Saturday afternoon on Senior Day at the James Garret Sports Complex pool in Selinsgrove.
Weingarten, Butkus and Willis were three of the 11 different swimmers that posted victories for Susquehanna as the River Hawks won 13 of the 14 events on the afternoon. Weingarten and Butkus were two of the four members of the winning 200-yard Medley Relay to start the meet. Senior Erin McElwee and Margaux Palaski completed the team that finished with a winning time of 1:52.97.
Weingarten also won the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly while Butkus posted additional wins in the 100-yard breaststroke and 200 Individual Medley.
Willis won the 100 and 200 freestyle races and anchored the winning 400-yard Free Relay in the last race of the afternoon.
Freshman Hannah Finton posted a pair of wins with the 500-yard freestyle and the lead leg of the 400 Free Relay while classmate Caitlin Kelly also won twice with victories in the 1000-yard free and the 400 Free Relay.
Additional winners for the River Hawks included Erin Wetmore in the 200 butterfly, Megan Shaffer in the 200 backstroke and Megan Duck in the 200 breaststroke. Jessica Jozefiak also posted a first place finish as part of the 400 Free Relay.
The River Hawks finish the regular season next Saturday at Catholic and then look to defend their title at the Landmark Conference Championships Feb. 17-19.
