SAAC Swim-Off a Rousing Success
On Sunday, Oct. 7, members of the Susquehanna University community took part in a charity swim-off, SAAC Saves the Girls: Drown-Out Cancer. Susquehanna’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) organized the event which raised over $1,500 in donations for the American Cancer Society.

Four Student-Athletes Earn All-Academic Team Honors
Four Susquehanna University student-athletes have been named to the Landmark Conference Winter All-Academic Team, released late last week. Swimmer Christie Savard, basketball player Nikki Schneck, swimmer Chadd Lee and track athlete Joe Zamadics were the four student-athletes recognized.

Thirty-Two Student-Athletes Recognized for Academic Accomplishments
Thirty-two Susquehanna student-athletes have received Scholar-Athlete Awards for recording the highest grade-point averages (GPA) on their respective teams during the 2010 fall semester. The award is part of the Student-Athlete Affairs program (SAA), sponsored by the NCAA.

Susquehanna Boasts 56 Student-Athletes on Landmark’s Winter Academic Honor Roll
Susquehanna University placed 56 student-athletes on the Landmark Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll, released on Tuesday. The Landmark Conference recognized 202 student-athletes from its eight member institutions, including SU.

Anderson, Heller Named February’s Rookie Super Crusaders
Swimmers Elaine Anderson and Josh Heller were tabbed the Rookie Super Crusaders for the month of February. It marks the second-straight Rookie Crusader honor for Heller, while it is the first of Anderson’s career.

Eight All-Conference Swimmers for Women’s Program
The Susquehanna women’s swim team boasted eight All-Landmark Conference athletes, the highest team total. SU, which captured its first-ever Landmark Conference championship on Sunday, saw six swimmers earn First-Team nods while two more were named to the Second Team.

Day two of the Landmark Conference Championships ended on Saturday with the Susquehanna women maintaining their hold on first place, while the men remained second. The SU women hold a 291-260 edge over second-place Catholic while the men trail first-place USMMA 407.5-325.

In its third Landmark Conference meet of the season, the Susquehanna men’s and women’s swim team earned a split with Scranton, as the SU men captured a 175-87 win while the women fell in a closely-contested meet, 137-125.
