Men’s, Women’s Tennis Fall to Moravian
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Susquehanna men’s and
women’s tennis teams, hosting their first matches of the
spring, fell to visiting Moravian on Saturday afternoon. The men
dropped a 9-0 decision while the women fell 7-2.
For the men, it was their first league loss of the season as they are now 7-2 overall and 2-1 in Landmark matches. The women, meanwhile, are now 6-2 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
The men dropped their first two singles matches in straight sets but Matthew Quadrini took Drew Shreter to three sets before dropping the third set 1-0 (10-4). Bruce Osborn and Grant Uber also took their opponents to three sets from the faith and sixth singles flights.
Moravian grabbed all three doubles victories, 8-6, 8-3, 8-2.
On the women’s side, Cassie Zerbe grabbed SU’s lone singles win with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Brianna Kavanagh from the sixth singles flight. The Crusaders’ other victory came in doubles action as Whitney Arcaro and Ellen Pullsinelle took down Stephanie Cox and Oliva Sonnabend 8-4.
