Women’s Tennis Falls in Title Match


SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Playing in and hosting their first ever Landmark Conference Championship, Susquehanna’s women’s tennis team fell to the University of Scranton 5-0 on Saturday afternoon.

SU (10-6) dropped all three doubles matches to the Royals (9-5) and only finished two of the six singles matches before the contest was called.

Despite not winning the championship, three players had outstanding seasons as senior Julia Lerner (Arlington, Va. / Washington-Lee), freshman Shelby O’Riley (Ware, Mass. / Quabbin Regional) and junior Abby Hess (Hughesville, Pa. / Hughesville) were named All-Conference. Head Coach Bob Jordan ’71 and his staff were recipients of Coaching Staff of the Year.
