Williams, O’Riley Named SAAC/Pepsi Super Crusaders

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Football and women’s tennis are represented as the Pepsi/SAAC Super Crusaders for the period ending Sept. 21 as junior defensive back C.J. Williams (Burlington, N.J./Perkiomen School) and senior Shelby O’Riley (Ware, Mass./Quabbin Regional) have been honored.

Williams recorded seven tackles (three solo), one interception, and a blocked kick in Saturday’s 29-28 loss at conference opponent Dickinson. He is second on the team with 22 tackles for the season and tied for second in the Centennial Conference with two interceptions.

O’Riley went undefeated in two singles and one doubles match last week, leading the Crusaders to a 9-0 win over PSU-Altoona on Sept. 16 and a 6-3 decision against Misericordia on Sept. 20. At first singles, O’Riley claimed a 6-4, 6-2 win at Altoona and a 6-1, 6-1 victory at Misercordia. In the second match, the senior also teamed up with classmate Brielle Ferlauto (Neshanic Station, N.J. / Somerville) for an 8-2 win at first doubles.

Williams and the football team begin a two game homestand when they host Centennial foe Gettysburg on Sept. 27 at 1:00 p.m. O’Riley and the women’s tennis team have home matches against Lycoming on Sept. 24 and Hood on Sept. 27.
