River Hawks Women’s Tennis Defeats Hood

THE STORY: The Susquehanna women's tennis team defeated Hood College 8-1 Saturday.

RECORDS: The River Hawks are now 1-0 on the season while Hood drops to 0-2.

3-0 AFTER DOUBLES: At the completion of doubles, Susquehanna had a 3-0 lead. Abagail Ransom and Alyssa Fleishman defeated their opponents 8-4 at number one doubles while Megan Rudloff and Eliza Griffin won 8-4 at number two doubles. The number three doubles team of Julia Spear and Amy Jennings dispatched their opponents 8-0.

SINGLES ACTION: Rudloff won 6-1, 6-4 in the number one singles position while Fleishman and Griffin won at number two (6-1, 6-0) and three (6-3, 6-0) singles, respectively. Spear defeated her opponent 4-6, 6-0, 6-3 at number five singles while Merefith Griggs won 6-3, 6-1 in the number six spot.

Kristin Histand of Hood earned the Blazers their only point as she defeated Ransom in the number four singles position by forfeit.
